Brocchinia - Bromelia
Brocchinia is a remarkable plant species belonging to the bromeliad family. Some species within this genus are carnivorous and grow in nutrient-poor areas, where they use insects as an additional source of food. The plant often forms a funnel-shaped structure in which water collects; insects become trapped here and are slowly broken down, allowing the plant to absorb nutrients.
Brocchinia is mainly found in South America and is known for its unique adaptation to extreme living conditions.
