Description Sundew (Drosera Madagascariensis)
The sundew (Drosera Madagascariensis): got its special name because of its unique appearance. This species has very distinctive stems, on which there are several side branches with sticky droplets. These nectar drops look (in the sun) like sundew drops; hence the name 'Sundew'. The droplets of the Drosera attract insects, which then try to take a bite or a sip, but remain stuck to the droplets. Once stuck to the droplets, the insects are unable to get loose. The leaf then rolls around the insect and enzymes in the droplets will digest the insect and move the nutrients to the plant.
The sundew is a plant that really cannot be missed in your home. Its peaceful appearance creates a pleasant atmosphere. Moreover, the sundew (Drosera Capensis) is one of the only carnivorous plants that catches mosquitoes.
