Description Sundew (Drosera) 'Nidiformis
The sundew (Drosera nidiformis): This species has very distinctive stems, on which there are several side branches with sticky droplets. These nectar drops look (in the sun) like sundew drops; hence the name 'Sundew'. The droplets of the Drosera attract insects, which try to take a bite / sip, but remain stuck to the droplets. Once stuck to the droplets, the insects are unable to get loose. The leaf then rolls around the insect and enzymes in the droplets will digest the insect and move the nutrients to the plant. The sundew is a plant that really should not be missing in your home, its peaceful appearance creates a nice atmosphere.
