The Pitcher plant (Sarracenia) gets its name from its beautiful shapes and colours. The Pitcher plant uses cup-shaped leaves, and the Sarracenia Flava Gigantea has very long cups with a bright red neck. At the edge of these cups is nectar, which insects find irresistible. The impressive colours and nectar (scents) of the Pitcher plant lure the insects into the trap. Once inside the large cups, barbs within the cups make it impossible for the insect to climb out. The cups then digest the insect and use the nutrients. This way, this impressive plant provides its own nutrition and helps you with insects in your home. The Sarracenia Flava is indispensable in your home and/or garden!
