Description Pitcher plant (Sarracenia Dave)
The Pitcher plant (Sarracenia Dave): with its unique white cups is one of our prettiest Sarracenia. This hybrid is also our newest Sarracenia. The Sarracenia "Dave" has very long and broad pitchers, which makes it stunning to see.
The cups of the Pitcher plant have a beautiful bright (in this case white) colour in order to attract insects. Besides the impressive colours, a nectar-like liquid sticks to the edge of the cups. However, the edge of the plant is smooth, so the insect falls into the cups quickly. Once inside the pitcher, the insect will not be able to escape. The Pitcher plant (Sarracenia) catches mosquitoes, (fruit) flies & wasps in your house or garden.
