The large pitcher plant (Nepenthes Gaya): This large pitcher plant has red/yellow cups. The pitchers are fully-grown leaves which, by catching insects, provide the plant with essential nutrients. There is a sweet liquid on the pitcher that lures insects. The rim of these cups is very smooth, so the insects fall into the cups. Once inside the cups, the insects cannot get out. The cups contain enzymes that digest the insects. The pitcher plant is a fairly rare carnivorous plant and originates from the jungles of Borneo. This beautiful plant can therefore be found in the wild. The large pitcher plant (Nepenthes Gaya) is a beautiful and impressive plant to have in your home. You can hang the Beaker plant somewhere in a sunny spot and enjoy its beautiful, coloured calyxes.
