Description Pinguicula "Guatemala" large - pot size 12
The Butterwort (Pinguicula Guatemala): The Butterwort is an 'innocent-looking' plant, but belongs to the carnivorous plant family. The Butterwort has large 'fat' leaves and a beautiful purple flower. This species can have several flowers at the same time - for instance, we once saw a plant with 12 flowers.... beautiful to see!
This cute species, like most carnivorous plant, uses its leaves to attract insects. There are tiny sticky droplets on the leaves, to which the insect remains attached unable to escape. This Pinguicula is huge fun to have in your home and is perfect for naturally controlling smaller insects, such as mosquitoes, gnats and fruit flies. You will be amazed at how many insects this plant catches.
Care is very easy, for example, the plant only needs a few hours of direct sunlight a day and this species is allowed to dry out a little (compared to other carnivorous plants).
Dimensions: (ø 12 cm x ↕ 25 cm including flower)
- Note: We cut off the flower in connection with transport. It breaks off in 9 out of 10 cases during transport. But with proper care, many new flowers will soon grow.

Best quality: our plants are - thanks to years of experience - healthy, strong and ready to catch insects in your home.
Care for Pinguicula
Important: when you buy the Butterwort (Pinguicula Guatemala), you will receive a leaflet with care tips for this carnivorous plant. This way, you can enjoy your own carnivorous plant for years to come.
Flower: We have to cut away the flowers before transport, as they are too fragile and would otherwise break off. But fortunately, these grow back very quickly.
