Description Pinguicula
The Butterwort (Pinguicula Cyclosecta): The Butterwort is an 'innocent-looking' plant, but it is indeed a member of the carnivorous plant family. Pinguicula also known as Butterwort are known to contain fatty leaves and one or more purple flowers. The 'fatty' leaves are used to attract prey (insects). The insects catch them with the leaves and digest them. The reason insects get stuck on the leaf is the small sticky droplets on the leaf. Once the insect is stuck in these, it will not come off. The Pinguicula is a very nice plant for the house and also very helpful.
