Description Trumpet Pitcher Plant ‘Smoorii’ (Sarracenia):
The Trumpet Cup Plant “Smoorii” features beautiful, bright cups in stunning colors. While compact varieties often produce thicker cups, the Smoorii develops slender, tapered cups. The calyx stands out particularly due to its graceful, wavy edge, which clearly distinguishes it from other varieties. This unique hybrid also develops a beautiful orange-yellow hue.
Nectar is found along the rim of these cups, which insects find irresistible. The impressive colors and the scent of the nectar from the Trumpet Cup Plant lure the insects into the trap. Once inside the large cups, barbs inside the cups prevent the insect from climbing out. The cups then digest the insect and use the nutrients. In this way, this impressive plant provides for its own nutrition—and helps you get rid of insects in your home.
